I am an assistant professor in the Department for the Study of Religion at San Diego State University, and a former postdoctoral fellow at the John C. Danforth Center on Religion and Politics at Washington University in St. Louis. I earned my Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2022 and my M.A. from New York University in 2017, both in religious studies. My research focuses on religion, capital, and relationality.

I am co-chair of the Religion and Economy Unit and serve on the steering committee of the Contemporary Islam Unit at the American Academy of Religion. I also serve on the editorial board of Religious Studies Review and on the board of Feminist Studies in Religion (electronic branch).
